Definition by Born Bi-Kim: Where we place women in our society largely influence where we stand in the world. Every time we mistreat a woman, you are mistreating the planet. New African Company and Actors Refuge Repertory Theatre presented a play series called, "Towards a New Ecology for Women" in April 2011. We dealt with women-based issues, e.g., Exploitation, Oppression, Negative stereotypes, etc.... Today's society claims that men and women are equal. If so, why is there a rape? Sex slavery? Domestic violence? The only profession that women get paid more than men is prostitution. I'm not a feminist, but I am a woman. Our theatre companies will continue to heart the voices of our community and address issues on stage, towards resolution.
