Having a performance background in voice, theatre and ballet, Mariko Kanto is now a dedicated community liaison. She is currently the producing-artistic director of Actors Refuge Repertory Theatre. She is also often seen on stage and camera as well as in print ads and on runways. Her past credits include: Surviving The Nian(Theatre Offensive), Dance Dance Dance Movin' Out(TBS Tokyo), Pink Panther Part Deux(Sony Pictures) and Boston Fashion Week(Drea Couture). Among her other community involvement, she has founded Japanese Actors Association in New England (JAANE). She also writes for AsianBoston Magazine and has her own column called, "Rainbow Bridge." She is dedicated to community development and promoting diversity through performing arts. In her retirement, she hopes to return to the tropics, with no technology gadgets, and be surrounded by leis of flowers, sunshine and rainbows.
